This is Muttley.   She is the product of a text I got one day out of the blue saying “How much do you reckon it would cost to make a foam Labrador?”  Turns out, not all that much – I think it was around $60 for the materials.  Anyway, Muttley will be serving as a window display in a hunting shop that is having a pre-duck-shooting-season sale.

She is definitely not a toy.  If I were to try and make something like this as a toy, I’d make a ‘hide’ by sewing the fun fur together and stretching it over the foam base so it’s robust and can handle the knocks.  This is done with hot glue and therefore won’t handle a lot of knocking around, but is good for display purposes.

Tutorial for how to make Muttley can be found here.
